Growth through expanding the product proposition

Tag: Contribution Veröffentlicht am: 16. July 2026 Autor: Michael Wörmann

Acquiring new customers is expensive. The greatest potential for growth often lies within the customer base you already have. By systematically identifying where customers encounter obstacles in their day-to-day lives, you can find opportunities for new services without altering the core product or building new infrastructure.

Procedure

1) Joint definition of the status quo and the scope for innovation: What resources are, in principle, available?
2) Definition of the core and extended audiences
3) Customer intelligence phase: We accompany, observe and speak to real customers whilst they are using the product
4) We identify pain points and needs based on our observations – including those beyond the product itself.
5) Joint discussion of the findings and ideation of possible additions to the product.

Result

You’ll receive prioritised ideas for new value propositions based on genuine needs. Concrete approaches that can be put into practice. And, if desired, a roadmap for the next steps.

A real-life example

Together with an international payment service provider, we systematically examined the purchasing and payment process across several countries. The focus was on the real obstacles users face in their day-to-day lives.

The result was a series of concrete service ideas that nobody had previously considered. One of these was integrated into the core product just a few months later.
